Trent Lock Scout Activity Centre is part of the UK Scouting Association and a charitable organisation. Our centre consists of instructors, leaders, organisers and other staff. All are volunteers and share a common purpose - to give children, youth and young adults, worthwhile life skills in an enjoyable and safe way.

We are continually looking for volunteers to help run the centre, both on and off the water. If you think you have the necessary skills and enthusiasm, please download our welcome letter. You can also email the secretary for further information and to discuss how you could help.

Calling all EXPLORER SCOUTS and LEADERS within 10 miles to Trent Lock Scout Activity centre
  • Are you interested in canoeing and kayaking?
  • Do you want to learn and practice more?
  • Are you an Explorer Scout or Young Leader (or even a not-so-young leader)?
  • Are you at least 15 years old?

Would you be prepared to join the canoeing team at Trent Lock Scout Activity Centre and to help to supervise Scouts/Cubs/Guides/Brownies on summer evenings and/or weekends?

The Trent Lock Centre is in great demand, particularly on summer evenings, by groups who want to come and try out canoeing. Unfortunately we have to disappoint many of them because we don’t have enough suitably qualified volunteers who can spare the time to look after them. That’s why we want to recruit and train more helpers.

You don’t need to be a skilled canoeist – yet; all you need is enthusiasm and to be prepared to get ‘stuck-in’. We shall be running training sessions at Trent Lock on Thursday evenings. If you are interested and would like to know more then contact Jim Davison or Sandie Welden or Andy Brown.
